OUR HISTORY
From Central City High School to
the Central City Convention Center & Spray Park
A Legacy That Lives On
Once Central City High School, now a center for fitness, recreation, and community, the Central City Convention Center & Spray Park continues to serve as a beloved hub where memories are honored and new ones are made.

For decades, the halls of Central City High School echoed with the footsteps of students who would go on to shape the future of Central City. As the needs of the community evolved, so did the vision for the cherished building. Instead of letting it fade, leaders chose to transform the school into a vibrant space that would bring people together.

Central City High School Museum Opens
For decades, Central City High School served generations of students and was a cornerstone of the community.
As the old high school closed, city leaders chose to repurpose the building, ensuring it would continue to benefit the community.
In 2009, the beloved school reopened as the Central City Convention Center, a modern, multi-purpose facility for all.
A dedicated museum within the center was created to commemorate the history of the school and its graduates.
